Not a Game Problem

I know this isn't a game problem, but I've run out of ideas. I installed a USB hub yesterday, and it seemed to be working fine. I shut my pc off and went out. When I came back later and booted up, my desktop was looking for a PS/2 mouse. Both my mouse and keyboard were connected by USB ports. The mouse was still plugged into the back of my pc and the keyboard was plugged into the hub. Now my pc acts as though the USB ports are disabled or non-existant. I dug up an adaptor for my mouse, so it works from the old PS/2 port, but my keyboard still doesn't work. I'm using a pal's to send this.

Any ideas out there? Did installing the hub cause this? My desktop uses Win98 and is about 3 years old or more.

I guess I'll bring it to the manufacturer, but it'll cost me. Last time it was $30 and they didn't really do much.

Of the top of my head, I'd say the hub is screwed, or the socket you connected it too.

Did it need drivers or anything? I'd try finding drivers for mouse, keyboard etc... And updating them, see if that fixes it.

I've just delivered the last rites to my trusty old PC. These consisted of several short blows with my fist and a big wallop with a baseball bat. There will be a brief wake at the local pub followed by a midnight ride to the local dump.

The only question, how do I reload TBCB on my new PC, if and when I get one?

If the machine has gone kablammo and you couldn't unlicense the game, you can contact Elicense, explain things, and they should sort you out with a new license on the new machine.

My 5-year old MDG PC died the other day. I managed to save several important files though, and had no problem reloading TBCB using the owner-id located in the receipt file in my replacement PC. (My daughter's Gateway computer, soon to be replaced.) Odd thing is while the game works normally, the background screens are so dominant, you can hardly read the white text. I toned down one pic in PSP, but it still needs work. I'm guessing that it's the video card.

The colors on my other computer look much deeper. The red color is so much nicer on the other one.

Also, inexplicably, the music doesn't play on the other one, but every other sound is fine?!
