OOTP 11 Road to Release 5: New Skin, Operation Sports Preview, and a Few More Tidbits
Sunday, 21 March 2010 17:56

Hi everyone, and welcome to our fifth Road to Release article! In today's RTR, we wanted to present a few more screenshots using a new skin we've just finished! These pages may look familiar to OOTP veterans, but we wanted to share them with potential new customers as well, and there's a few new tidbits in there as well. As usual, click on thumbnail to see a larger version of the picture!

Operation Sports Preview
First, we wanted to give a real quick mention to Operation Sports, who has just published a preview of OOTP 11. Come check it out!

Manager Home
The Manager Home page is a portal of sorts, and it's the first page most users will see each time they start up OOTP:

In OOTP 11, the Manager Home has been enhanced to provide tips to managers, along with helpful links. In this case, you can see the game is pointing out that the draft pool is now available, among other things. The right-hand side of the screen can now be toggled as well. You can choose between a season timeline that shows you where you are in the season, and what you see in this screenshot - team leaders and how your top prospects are performing. The bottom third of the screen includes some basic team and owner information, as well as a section that shows yesterday's box score and allows you to quickly jump to today's game!

Player Profile
The Player Profile shows the detail about any individual player in your game.

The Player Profile includes your player's demographic information and ratings, as well as statistics for the past several years. One change in the Player Profile since OOTP 10 is in the Personality arena. In previous versions, players were given numerical ratings for a number of different personalities. In OOTP 11, personalities will be described in text instead of with numeric ratings. (The example in this screenshot was just a sample that Markus put in - don't worry that it sounds a little odd!)

Team Finances
The Team Finances page contains an overview of your team's financial situation.

OOTP 11 brings the addition of individual owners with unique personalities.

League News
OOTP generates news articles throughout the history of your league, and the League News page is where managers can come to see all of the important news articles for their league:

OOTP 11 has split the News pages into a "paned" view, with a list of articles on the left and a reading pane on the right. You can also edit and write your own news articles, which will be preserved in the history of your league!

If you'd like to discuss this, come join us on our message boards!
