Out of the Park has grown into a very complex game. A lot of work has gone into making the interface cleaner and more intuitive. We've also added an in-game help feature, putting help at your fingertips while you are playing the game. In addition, we've been working on some video tutorials. OOTP 10 TutorialsWe have one tutorial so far for OOTP 10 that gives an overview of the OOTP 10 interface. We hope to produce some more video tutorials soon! If you're looking for more information, check out the "Mining Your Data" tutorial in the OOTP 8 section below. That area of the game hasn't changed much, and that tutorial should give new players a pretty good sense of how to use our views and filters! The OOTP 9 tutorials are reasonably similar as well!
OOTP 9 TutorialsFidel Montoya from allsimbaseball.com was kind enough to put together a few simple promotional videos/tutorials in WMV and Flash format. The Flash one is much larger, but is of course platform-independent.
Note: To ensure a smooth playback, we recommend that you right-click and save the WMV file to your desktop before playing. Similarly, with the Flash versions, we recommend waiting for the whole video to load before playing. OOTP 8 / OOTPB 2007 TutorialsThe tutorials are available in either WMV or Flash format. Getting Started: Quick-StartsThe Getting Started tutorial walks you through all of the options on the main page of the game, and goes into detail about how to get a new player into a game using the Quick-Start feature.
The OOTPB Interface TutorialThe OOTPB Interface Tutorial is designed to give new players a quick tour through the user interface of OOTPB. Doesn't go very deep into the game's functionality, but teaches you a lot about how to get around inside a pretty complicated game.
Mining Your Data with Views and Filters The Mining Your Data Tutorial is designed to give new players a good understanding of how views and filters can be used to sort through the data in the game.
