"At 72 years old, going back to the Amiga, best computer ever made, been playing baseball games since Earl Weaver, Tony La Russa, the EA series, DMB, SOM, never found one that was complete enough. Till I stumbled on OOTP 5, this is the most complete baseball game ever, you can do it all. GM, manage, even be a minor league manager and work your way up to The Show. Trade, sign FA's, extensions, set all strategies, by team and player. Design your own league, fictional or play historically from 1871 to now, with real rosters. Play solo or in online leagues.
The game is supported by a truly great mod community that freely offers databases, roster sets, photo packs, logos and other graphics and utilities.
Look over the really awesome website run by OOTP at OOTPdevelopments.com, over 3 million posts. Unbelievable.
In short, A TRULY GREAT GAME AND A GREAT COMMUNITY IN SUPPORT."

"Out of the Park Baseball has been apart of my life since I was a young teenager. After trying other other games to fill my need I stumbled upon this series in its third version. I was addicted to sim leagues and even started my own hosting service to help provide to sim leagues with a venue. Some of my best baseball memories are based on fictional players created throughout these leagues. Since college my time has been limited but I still find time to participate in my leagues. The community surrounding this game makes a great product, a product without limits. People are creating things to tweak the game, and help create a better experience for each user. If you love that statistical and 'what-if' side of baseball, by yourself or among others, this game is well worth your hard earned money." Jordan 'JWay' Gillis |

"As I think of all the changes I've made in my life since my sophomore year in college (2000) to now, I'm amazed at how much has changed. Nearly everything about me has changed. The only thing that is the exact same? I'm still an avid OOTP-aholic. I found the game when it was in it's infant stages (OOTP 2) and I've been loyal to it since. The customer service is top notch. You won't find a more attentive lead programmer than Markus Heinsohn. I've never seen a lead programmer so accessible to his customers and while he can't get everything into the game, I'm thoroughly pleased with the final product on a yearly basis. I have no doubt that any avid baseball fan that tried out OOTP would be blown away by the game. However, I always have and always will contend that the customer service and a programmer that caters to his customers is the strongest selling point for this game. It's what has kept me coming back year after year for nearly nine years." Jason Howard (avwjase) |

"I've been playing baseball simulation games since I was 10 years old - from Micro League Baseball, to Earl Weaver Baseball to Front Page Sports Baseball to Baseball Mogul. The Out of the Park Baseball series has taken baseball simulation to another level. Every year the series gets exponentially better with new features and even more customizable options. The only limit to what you can do with OOTP is your imagination." Chris Kivlehan, MLBscoop.com |

"More than ten years ago, I found myself obsessed with a sports text sim, Championship Manager (now Football Manager), that was the best game I had ever played. I felt something of an outsider, an American playing a soccer sim. I would often think that it would be a great thing if someone created a baseball sim as complex and playable as CM/FM. There have been some strong attempts, deserving of their solid reputations. But for me, the "dream come true" was, and is, Out of the Park. And a certain irony was not lost on me: even as I loved CM/FM despite being, as an American, an outsider to the soccer world, so, too, OOTP was created by an "outsider" to the world of baseball, a man from Germany. To be honest, in the early years, there were small signs that the man behind the game was coming to baseball as a second love, the same way someone who has learned a new language occasionally gets a word wrong. But that was so long ago, I can no longer remember what those small signs were. Meanwhile, OOTP continues, and remains the best baseball sim around." Community member Masoo |
