Hello again from OOTP Developments!
GameSpot, GameShark and Operation Sports have weighed in on OOTP 9.GameSpot says, "There is no doubt that this is the best baseball management sim out there for serious followers of the national pastime". GameShark states, "Out of the Park Baseball 9 is the single best text-based sports game on the planet, bar none", while Operation Sports says "OOTP9 is a worthy improvement to an excellent series". A fully playable version of
the OOTP 9 demo is now available for download on our downloads page. In the past people have complained
that our demo was too limited. Well, not any more! The OOTP 9 demo is
valid for 10 "real-world" days, and can play up to one and a half seasons in-game,
so now you can easily play through a full season and really get a feel
for the entire OOTP experience.
You can purchase and license the game anytime, without downloading it again. You will not lose your saved games when you license the OOTP demo. If you've been on the fence about whether or not to buy OOTP 9, you've run out of excuses! If you're a fan, encourage a friend to take a test drive. Give us a try, we think you won't regret it!
OOTP 9 Patch #4 Released - Version 9.1.6
At OOTP Developments, we're
work hard to provide superior support for our games, even though there
are just a few of us. So, any time we can release a patch that helps
more customers enjoy the game, we're happy about it! Today's patch does
only include a single new feature, but it does include a number of fixes for
problems reported by our customers. See here for a full list of fixes in version 9.1.6.
The new feature is for the historical leagues: When importing, you have the option to base the fielding ratings on just the current year, 3 years, or the entire career. This does only apply to non-recalc leagues. This setting can be altered in the league setup too, and there it applies to the imported rookies. The full setup file for OOTP 9 is a little over 200 MB. If you have a broadband connection, we recommend you download the full setup file and simply install it over your current OOTP 9 installation. If you do not want to download the full setup file, for example if you are on dial-up, you can also download just a 10 MB updated OOTP program file. Alright, you may have missed
our promotions, but we still think OOTP 9 is a steal at the standard
price. If you spend just 10 hours playing OOTP, it will have cost you
just $4 per hour. Compare that to a night out at the movies for two
with popcorn and a soda, which is likely to cost you $40 for 2 hours,
and you'll see that a game like OOTP is a tremendous entertainment
value :) Frankly, once you get started, we think it's more likely you'll
spend 100 hours on the game than 10, and then the difference is truly
astounding!
