Eddy Vegas Gets His Viewers Involved in OOTP
While you're downloading OOTP 14, be sure to read the latest article on our web site, which chronicles the exploits of the Las Vegas Mudcats. The team's roster is filled with players named after followers of Eddy Vegas' OOTP broadcasts on Twitch.tv. "Naming my players as my viewers is so compelling," Vegas says. "People automatically relate and want to know what will happen, so they keep tuning in. It's a winning formula."
Vegas even added a team called the Silicon Valley Bugs to his league. It's filled with members of OOTP Developments' staff, and he recently broadcast a Bugs-Mudcats match-up. (Warning: Vegas tends to use obscenities.)
Season 2 of the Grand Championship League Gets Underway
The Planetary Extreme Baseball Alliance (PEBA) won the first season of the Grand Championship League (GCL) earlier this year, but they have to defend their title as the next campaign kicks off. The GCL is a kind of World Cup for OOTP's online leagues, minus the chanting and vuvuzelas. Each league sends a representative to the GCL, which is a unique fictional league that's different each time.
The GCL season two draft is done and spring training is underway, so league reps have started posting previews of their teams on our forum. You can peruse all the teams on the GCL home page, and the official GCL blog will soon begin publishing reports that will continue through the playoffs. We hope you'll follow all the action.
