"Out of the Park Baseball has been apart of my life since I was a young teenager. After trying other games to fill my need I stumbled upon this series in its third version. I was addicted to sim leagues and even started my own hosting service to help provide to sim leagues with a venue. Some of my best baseball memories are based on fictional players created throughout these leagues. Since college my time has been limited but I still find time to participate in my leagues. The community surrounding this game makes a great product, a product without limits. People are creating things to tweak the game, and help create a better experience for each user. If you love that statistical and 'what-if' side of baseball, by yourself or among others, this game is well worth your hard earned money."

"As I think of all the changes I've made in my life since my sophomore year in college (2000) to now, I'm amazed at how much has changed. Nearly everything about me has changed. The only thing that is the exact same? I'm still an avid OOTP-aholic.
I found the game when it was in it's infant stages (OOTP 2) and I've been loyal to it since. The customer service is top notch. You won't find a more attentive lead programmer than Markus Heinsohn. I've never seen a lead programmer so accessible to his customers and while he can't get everything into the game, I'm thoroughly pleased with the final product on a yearly basis. I have no doubt that any avid baseball fan that tried out OOTP would be blown away by the game. However, I always have and always will contend that the customer service and a programmer that caters to his customers is the strongest selling point for this game. It's what has kept me coming back year after year for nearly nine years."

"More than ten years ago, I found myself obsessed with a sports text sim, Championship Manager (now Football Manager), that was the best game I had ever played. I felt something of an outsider, an American playing a soccer sim. I would often think that it would be a great thing if someone created a baseball sim as complex and playable as CM/FM.
There have been some strong attempts, deserving of their solid reputations. But for me, the "dream come true" was, and is, Out of the Park. And a certain irony was not lost on me: even as I loved CM/FM despite being, as an American, an outsider to the soccer world, so, too, OOTP was created by an "outsider" to the world of baseball, a man from Germany.
To be honest, in the early years, there were small signs that the man behind the game was coming to baseball as a second love, the same way someone who has learned a new language occasionally gets a word wrong. But that was so long ago, I can no longer remember what those small signs were. Meanwhile, OOTP continues, and remains the best baseball sim around."

"Out of the Park Baseball (now on version 9) is THE BEST sports management simulator you could ever own if you are a baseball fan.
Back in 1999 I found a little web site run by Markus Heinsohn, then a programming student in Germany, where Out of the Park Baseball 2 (aka OOTPB2 or OOTP2), a product developed and designed by Markus, was available for download. From the minute I started the program I was hooked.
Nine years later I'm still playing and enjoying every minute!
In OOTP you are the manager/general manager of a major league baseball franchise- you call the shots, trade players, sign players, develop rookies in the minor leagues, set ticket prices, negotiate broadcast contracts, etc.. It is the most in-depth, baseball gaming experience I have ever had the pleasure to play.
You can macro- or micro-manage as you see fit; OOTP is very user-friendly and adaptable to you. Markus has done an exceptional job of making a product that is accessible to a wide variety of people who love baseball. You set all the league details (i.e. number of team, number of minor league levels, international leagues, etc.), run either a fictional or historical league (allowing players to pick up at any point in baseball history and move forward) and create on-line leagues where multiple players can become part of the show.
No other game offers the depth (both in statistics and items to manage) or overall baseball experience as OOTP- a game designed by a baseball fan for baseball fans."
