Any new graphics types? different sizes in OOTP11?

I was just wondering if there are any planned changes to the way logos/uniforms will be handled? Any new options regarding these that might make me want to get to work on revamping some of my existing ones?

No changes on this front in OOTP 11. This part of the game works quite well, doesn't it?

Yes it does. Please don't change any of this. That would cause lots of work to have to be redone by all the modders.

not really needed...it's just a photo after all. MLB teams don't take two in each uniform for their official player photos.

Only thing I'd ask for regarding logos is it'd be awesome if you could get Aurelio to do up another batch of logo templates. Some modders have made some, but you can never have enough!

I was pretty pleased with his first batch. There were only a handful that I thought were particularly weak (like the helmet and glove ones), but if he could try to do up some more interesting ones like the skyline and mountain ones that'd be great. Some more league appropriate ones would be great too.

I don't really see it as being all that different from having a night and day picture for the stadium. Couldn't there be two pictures stored per player, a home and an away picture? (I mean, for facegen, of course.) And when you go on road games, it would swap out the home pics in favor of the away ones, much like how it swaps out stadium pics between night an day?

The night/day thing doesn't even work properly. In order for this feature to be viable, the player coordinates for day vs. night need to be able to be different.

This isn't because someone who is usually negative about everything about the game doesn't like an idea that it make an idea uneeded and not a good one. It isn't only a photo for those who play the game and not just simulated them.

I'll have you know I watch every game. I am not negative about the game, just all of these little petty optional/not optional requests are in no way really enhancing the game in terms of AI, competitiveness, or providing more information for the GM. It really seems sometimes like some of the requests are juvenile in nature, almost as if the median age of an OOTP player was 17. (in other words, the eye candy crowd)

In your opinion, its not needed. I think it would add a lot to player photos to see multiple unis.

Doesnt even have to be that in depth. Just a simple randomizer of the two uniforms for a player's image on his page would make me happy.

I play out all of my games and understand why some would want this and hope they get it, but I hope it is well thought out. For the record I don't want it in my game for the following reasons.

1. I have a complete set of mod-made MLB uniforms that work great now. Adding this to my game means I have to wait for a mod to make a set that I like. Will the colors they use be the same as the set I already have? Cap and jersey colors and logo sizes match when coming from different mods? Sorry, I don't want my Cubs playing in two different shades of blue nor with two different size C's on their hats.

2.I assume the "edit colors, logo, uniforms" box now contain two sets of boxes so both home and away jerseys, caps, logos, and trim are available. What happens if I have nothing in the road boxes? Does it default back to the home set? It should, I shouldn't have to point the game to my set of unis twice if I only want to use one design.


3. As has been pointed out the game now needs twice as many pics or has to create new pictures when you switch from home to road to put the new uni on the current face.

4. If the game does use two pics they'll have to be made two at a time so the faces match, won't they? Not a big deal for one at a time but if a person wants to fill a new league with face-gen pics he just doubled the time it takes. 600 pics just became 1200.

5. What picture shows on the player card when not in a game. The last one used or always the home uni?

6. When a player retires does one of the pics get deleted automatically saving wasted disk space?

I hope if added it is done in a way where we, that want to, can use the current system. I would prefer a system where you have a check box to opt-in to using away unis and the default would be the current one set of unis.

I know all of my issues can be programmed around. I mention them though to make sure that those asking for this feature are thinking about and suggesting to Markus ways it should be done to keep it an optional feature.

One of MY big requests (I play or watch all games).I would like all pictures to be sized to suit---annnnddd be seen in all appropriate situations,as in the on field headshots (Action shots Etc.)--the custom pictures would be shown,just sized to fit.The other situations ,be able to increase size (I know might block out some info.)In most cases the "Immersion"factor is more important to ME.Especially in Historical leagues--Ahh yes the memories the photos invoke

It's the impression you gave. I agree with you it's eye candy and don't add anything to the game, but player picture is eye candy whatever you had one or two. For me it's just something that had more immersion in the game (the facepack mod I have included the home and away uniform). For the space problem I don't see it, my real photo folder is 200 megs big for almost all the players who had played the game and I think the generated one are smaller than the real photo. So unless you have a really small hard disc this isn't that much.

For what it's worth what I want is that the real manager name from the database get imported when we start an historical simulation in place of the useless generated one. But it won't happen again this year, but I can live without it and do it manually again this isn't a deal breaker for me.

BTW I will reach 40 years old this year, so I'm far from 17
