Let's talk colors (and skins)
The colors on the roster and lineup screens have changed between OOTP 11 and OOTP 12.
In OOTP 11 when using the OOTP dark skin players not in the starting lineup appear in white making them easy to see : In OOTp 12 using the dark skin they're light blue: Non-starters show up as light blue in the other skins as well, making them very hard to tell the difference between them and the starters: I like to check the lineup before each game to sub out tired players or sub in players performing well. This color change makes it a little harder. Any reason white with the dark skin was changed to light blue for the new release? |

yeah i noticed that too. Also, i liked the dark skin in v11 better. This one is too dark i think. I dunno just looks different. But i might have to use it, eyes start to hurt after using the default skin for too long heh

It's much darker. The background in OOTP11 was dark grey. In OOTP12 it's very nearly black.

I have to play with a dark skin, the other ones while they do look very nice, for a game like this, I need a dark screen or my eyes will hurt.
But yes, I was kind of shocked how black the dark skin was in v12. Haven' treally done too much than mess about so far, won't start a league for real until tomorrow evenin' most likely so I can't say how if will effect me functionally, but I certainly wouldn't mind a revival of the dark OOTP11 skin....

I, too, preferred OOTP 11's dark skin over the much darker version in OOTP 12. At least player name coloring was lightened during the beta process. For a while there, it was really difficult to read names on the black background. While it may not be as aesthetically pleasing overall as the old version, I think the names are now pretty legible.

It's almost impossible to see player names while dragging them for substitutions in-game using the dark skin. You just have to kind of guess if you're on the right slot. I loved the dark skin in 11 but there's a lot of issues with the dark skin in 12 (red names when players are highlighted always makes me think they're injured at first).

No question that I preferred the lighter dark skin in 11, but none of the other skins are an option in 12 - way too bright. So like others have said, I'm stuck with the very dark skin - warts and all.

OOTP 10's blue skin is still the gold standard!

yes! still the best skin IMO. I cant stand the bright skins. Just like in FM, i had to change to a dark skin cause it hurt my eyes staring at it for hours. I just wish the Dark skin in the new one was better. Or at least let us use skins for prior versions.

Is it possible to edit the skins? Where are the files located?

Those missing the old "ootp dark" skin will be pleased when the new patch arrives.

They're in the data\skins directory inside the program folder.
Unfortunately, they're just big .bin files, I don't think you can edit them. |

Then something must have gone awry during your upgrade. What version number does it list for you on the OOTP main screen? In version 12.0.3, the "ootp dark" skin has essentially been returned to its OOTP 11 state. The only difference that I'm aware of is a slight lightening of the shade of red used to color the names of injured players, and that's an improvement over OOTP 11's version, IMO.
