Award Icons

Loved the downloadable icons in 16. Has anyone tried it for 17 yet? Is it the same process?

I actually forgot how to change them. Seems like it took me multiple tried last year.

Actually I need help with this to the folder were the icons go to is missing in this version

Go to Addons Central
Download the skin files and install them
Place the icons in the image folder for each skin
Delete the skin.bin file
Star OOTP

You will get the "Not Responding" message for a bit while OOTP rebuilds the skin.bin file

Do that for each skin.

Close OOTP and restart - your icons should show

When I download the skin files the folder where are icons are at its not visible

Hmmm, the folders all showed up for me after download and install.

Did you exit OOTP (dumb question I know but gotta cover all the bases) and then look and none of these are in the individual skin folder?

Yes I for some reason the folders were compressed I extracted now they work

I got them in the image folder on the C drive folder for the skins, and renamed the skin.bin file something else, and can't seem to force it to rebuild the skin.bin file with the new award icons. Am I missing something?

After you put the new icons in the images folder, delete the skin.bin file.

Start OOTP, select the desired skin, and it will rebuild.

Exit OOTP, then restart and your icons should show.

Where did you find the files? I do not have any of the folders and would like to add the directories.

Also.. When I downloaded the skins form Add ons central.. it put them in a downloads folder. Do I need to copy and paste the downloaded folder to the actual folder in the data folder for ootp?

How long will it take to rebuild? I deleted the bin file and its still not responding...

MAKE SURE you have "run as administrator" checked on the OOTP 17 icon on your desktop. The skin.bin file will not rebuild unless it is.

Until Markus has patching that is just the exe and not all the files, YES you have to do this every time a patch is released.

That's why I mostly stay away from mods. Too much hassle for a player like me.
