Bowman 2014 request

Hey there,

anyone care to give these a try? Bowman 2014 base (Utley) and Bowman 2014 prospect cards (Abreu). Thought that design looks clean and nice.

If nobody has time or interest to do these, that wouldn't be the end of the world.

Best regards,
madJ

PS: Sorry for the less than optimal quality of the images. I went with the quick photo of those cards.

I've got the image for the default almost done. I think I'm just going to do like the 06 Bowman and make the gold, blue and silver border the hof, all-star and award versions. I'll try and make the prospect card also.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before but if you have a draft and use the advanced signing option, if you make a card for a draft pick before they sign a contract the player's amateur stats appear on the card. Unfortunately the draft team's name won't appear. If there's interest in cards for draft picks we can request some draft related tokens like draft team, draft year, round picked, overall picked, etc...

Your cards are top notch, your post just got me excited. I think I may use these once you finish them!

Whoa, nice. Thought this didn't appeal to anybody, but your response got me all psyched as I love those cards and having them for OOTP would just be amazing.

Also I have to second Hockey13Playa's statement that your card templates are great in general. Doesn't mean that the work of the other guys creating card templates is bad. I highly appreciate it and somehow feel an urgent need to improve my Photoshop skills to give something back to the community.

Dude... these are pure sex lol. Honestly, fantastic job they look amazing!!!! Pretty pretty please with sugar on top can you make for this set:

- Default
- All-Star
- Cy-Young
- Defense
- Gold Glove
- Hitter
- Hall of Fame
- Manager
- MVP
- Pitcher
- Rookie
- Rookie of the Year

Not sure how much time on top of making what you've done so far is but these are amazing! So all those variations to manually make cards would be fantastic!

I'm doing the same thing I did with the '06 Bowman. HOF will be the gold border, All-star the blue border and Awards the silver border with a text label of the award in the Bowman Briefing section on the back. The borders use the trialpha layer so anyone who wants a different color for any of them (including the default) can make a simple change in the xml file.

2014 Bowman - file is attached, scroll past the examples to download.

The border of the card uses a trialpha layer for the color and can easily be changed in the xml.
If you want to use one of the other color variations from the set or even the team colors instead it is very simple:
- open the xml file in Notepad or whatever simple text editor Macs have.
- on line 10 you will see the image element for the card's border
- change the color hex code in the trialpha_red to whatever color you want, make sure you have the # in the beginning (if you want the team background color use [%TEAM_BG_COLOR], no # needed with this)

Default - rookies will have the rookie logo in the upper left corner

All-Star - same as default but with the blue border and a All-Star label in the Briefing section on the back.

Hall of Fame - same as default but with the gold border and a HOF label in the Briefing section on the back.

Awards - same as default but with the silver border and an Award label in the Briefing section on the back.

I got a question, with this download file there are a great amount of "backgrounds" or "backdrops" for the cards... they are labeled as follows:

"bg00.png"
"bg01.png"
....
"bg98.png"
"bg99.png"

However I don't see any of these being used/created when I create any of these 2014 Bowman cards, can anyone help answer why?

The 2014 Bowman doesn't use the bg##.png files, they weren't included in the zip file for the template. Those images are only used in the swatch card templates.

Oops my mistake. Is there a way to use those backgrounds/images, or no?
