Fictional Fast-Sim Quickstart with 200+ years of history

This is my ongoing fast-sim solo league that I started back in 2008 and have been actively managing through versions 9, 10 and now 11 of OOTP.

Fast-sim means that injuries are off, fatigue is low (though you could increase it) and after the off-season ends, the teams are set not to allow AI changes and I sim the entire season at once, then allow teams to make changes during the off-season.

Worried yet? Don't be. In this league, only four players have ever hit .400 in the 212 years the league has been around. Only one man has hit 60 home runs. One time. And that was in the 1800s.

The years aren't important, I started in the past because I knew I wanted a long history when I started it and I have a hard time starting in the modern times, but the economic model and stats (ok, mostly) have been relatively static. There is a period of a juiced ball and dead ball period, but...I managed to stabilize it before moving it into OOTP 11 upon release.

There's over 200 years of history, I used to have just one level of minors, but now there are three (with ghost players activated, to keep file sizes down)

There are 36 teams in the majors (two 18-team leagues) and 8 teams in each make the playoffs at the moment. (7-7-7-9)

Schedule is custom and all of the logos/uniforms as well.

The history alone might engross you for hours before you even decide to play it at all, at least, it does for me and I've been around for all of it. Enjoy.

Here's the link, but it's huge (all that history, you know) so it'll take a while, but it's worth it. Unzip the file and then download it into your Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 11\quickstart_games\ folder.

Oh, the salary cap was at $65m forever, but I increased it slightly the other year to $66 million. All teams get the same amount of media money, because honestly, worrying about finances in fast-sim is just not worth the trouble unless things go awry (or checking to make sure teams aren't over the cap via extensions every so often.)

Lemme know if you have questions!

I've been looking for someone to do this. I would do it myself but I just don't have the time. Having 11 month old twins and a three year old keeps me kind of busy.

Thanks!

You know, I was hoping that people would appreciate it precisely for that reason. So I'm glad I put decided to release it to the public.

Hope you enjoy it!

This interests me a lot. I was struggling with what to play in v11. I'll give it a try.

Thanks for doing this.

Thank you so much! I've been looking for something like this. I have started 4 leagues myself so far just haven't found the right mix yet.

Thanks. I will give it a try and let you know what I think.

is it possible for you to post this in a previous season?
say before 2001, the Seattle franchise that has 12 championships goes under then or even previous years then that?

In the package you have a subfolder called "incident_2010-04-09 22_13_00".

I think it contains just some security backup the game created after a crash during your testing.

This subfolder can be safely deleted so you can repackage the quickstart, because this backup folder alone is 280 MB!

EDIT: and you can delete the autosave, file and import-export subfolders too! Another 280 MB.

No, I just uploaded it at a point when I'd played it last. And not now because that computer it was originally on is toast.
